Name is Joe, I've been itchin to get a bronco since my dad had one when I was a kid. Now I'm finacially able to have more than one toy :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> I'm heading out to see this 88 and wanted to know if there were any pointers besides the obvious when buying a used car. Anything in particular when looking at this year and body style? Any major issues that have been occuring quite often? I've looked and haven't seen anything and would like to have a few member's opinions :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Thanks in advance,

Murse Joe

Welcome to the Zone > . If it's a Northern Bronco, check it for rust [wheel wells, tail gate, tub and tailgate support (have to look up under the rear of the quarter panels to see this), rocker panels, lower B-post (the door post at the back of the door)]. That could or could not be a problem to you, it all can be repaired. Those are the common rot areas, other than that I can't think of any 88 specific problems. Things like the check engine light indicates something needs attention. Make sure things under the hood look normal and not all torn up. If you like it, you might want to ask if your mechanic could take a look at it.

Good luck,

:)>-

I'm up at woodbridge. The 88 had more rust than I could shake a stick at. I'm going to head down this week and take a look at a 1982 and take a gander at that.

The only thing I am a little iffy about is the the gears aren't the same. He decided he wanted to upgrade the gears in the back....just not in the front. So it won't engage in 4x4 till I get the front end changed over. I'm looking at the cost and ease of doing that now and seeing if it is going to be worth it. The guy has given me a great price . . .just trying to see if there is a reason behind the "great" price.

If anyone has .02 to throw into the kitty, the floor is open :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
