i bought a donor truck for $250 several months ago (craigslist rocks!). (it was the one with starter problems)
i swapped everything i could that was easy(mirrors, grill, window vent wing, hood, and some other stuff)
i had intended to swap the 351 into my bronco, but at some point it dawned on me i have neither the time, the money, nor the tools to do an engine swap -- not to mention the space or the know-how. (it was going to be a learning experience) so the truck just sat there for many months.
the donor had good wheels and great tires. i noticed a WTB ad on craigslist looking for tires and wheels. anyway, long story short, the guy bought my wheels and tires and a few other things for $250. i got the short end of that deal, but i didn't care -- i had broken even by this time.
then a few weeks later i sold what was left for $200 -- i got the short end of that deal too, but this deal put me in the black for $200!
that's really not a bad deal!
