i have a 89 ford bronco with a 8.8 rear end and i was wondering what the speed sensor for because i was wanting to put a ford 9inch in the truck would it make a differnce if it hooked up or not if anyone could help please let me know

The VSS (vehicle speed sensor) is needed for your engine's computer to run correctly. Your 89 operates on the "speed density" system to adjust timing, fuel, and other engine functions.
