i have a 89 ford bronco with a 8.8 rear end and i was wondering what the speed sensor for because i was wanting to put a ford 9inch in the truck would it make a differnce if it hooked up or not if anyone could help please let me know

The VSS (vehicle speed sensor) is needed for your engine's computer to run correctly. Your 89 operates on the "speed density" system to adjust timing, fuel, and other engine functions. There's more info in other posts if you search, or check www.fordfuelinjection.com for info. You can also look in the Tehc Articles forum for "Miesk5's Homepage", and follow the links to rear axle swaps. JSM84
