I don't know a whole lot about carburetors but I am having some issues. Does any one know of a link to go to for rebuild instructions.

If you post up your year model and engine size (cid) and the style of carb, we can help out. there's several posts on the stock carbs as well as aftermarket, JSM84

Also, instructions come with the rebuild kit. I'd go to a local book store or library and get a book on carbs, it should be a real help in understanding what you are doing.
