Hello fellow Bronco Owners,

I am not new to the culture, but i am new to becoming an owner. And its a dream come true.

right now i am planning on lifting my Ford 1996 Eddie Bauer Edition Bronco, 5.8L Windsor 351...

my question is regarding lift kits, and all the components contained within.

every lift kit has different parts, some come with sway bar drop brackets, some radius arms, some stabilizers.

what parts do i actually need to start and finish this project all in one day?

the following parts is what i think i need

1. Coils

2. Rear Springs

3. Extended Brake Lines

4. Pitman Arm

5. 4 Hydro Shocks

6. Extended Radius Arms

7. Dual Steering Stabilizer

8. Sway Bar Drop Bracket ???????????

is this more then what i need, or am i missing some parts?

thank you for your help.

Well Ron,

1. for light to moderate off roading.

2. for looks.

I would be aiming for a 4" lift. nothing too crazy, but enough to fit 35" tires.

You will probally want to add a body lift for 35's.I went 3.5 wild horses lift about 10 years ago,and needed a body lift.A lot of times the sway drop bracket keeps your steering geometry at a better angle, but ive seen guys swear they dont need them.donn

OK,

Best bet is to buy a kit with everything engineered to work together. For light off roading, you should be ok with blocks in the rear, but I would go for springs. ( just because I hate to have stuff break far away from home.)

Withe 35s the steering stablizers are a good idea. You may be ok with a single though.

Your 96 should have dual shocks up front, so your would need 6 shocks. and make sure the kit you buy will work with dual fronts.

As far as dropped brackets and such, a good kit will have whatever you need. If in doubt ask wherever you intend to buy.

Good Luck and Have Fun!

I think a rough country suspension lift would suit your application, all required parts are included as well as the extras like quad shock option extended brake lines and sway bar drop brackets. if you have a front sway bar then you need the drop brackets for 4 or mor inches of lift.

35's will fit with a 4" kit but they would have more room to articulate properly if you included a 2 or 3" body lift or just went up to the 6" suspension lift wich from RC is only $60 more. 4" lift it better suited for 31-33's for rigs that will see some serious trails.

Thanks Guys,

this is really helpfull.

I think the Rough Country is what i am going with.

I am definately going with the Rear Leaf springs and dual stabilizers

and i'll have to check on the quad shock option, im not sure if mine has that.
