The passenger wiper linkage popped off the other day. After removing the cowl section, I got in there and found it apparantly snaps onto a plastic piece. Well I put it back on but it only lasted for a couple of days. What's the correct fix for this? Is the plastic thing worn or is there a keeper I'm missing or what's the deal?

TIA

Taking a wild guess on the year, You should have a metal clip that holds it together. Any scrap yard from any f series truck (any ford for that matter approx same year) should have it. If you need a picture I might be able to dig one up.

Sorry, totally lame of me. It's an '82. Sounds like I get to go poke around in the bone yard. I love excuses to do that! And thanks, I'll let you know how it goes...

I ended up getting the passenger side linkage arm from another Bronco. It was easier to just swap this piece rather than trying to make mine work. I don't know why the plastic piece wouldn't stay attached to the linkage arm. Whatever, the new one cost me a dollar. Wipers are working great now.

Well that's the funny thing about it, there's no metal clip involved. Just a plastic cup which snaps onto the ball. The cup should remain part of the linkage arm but wouldn't. Wore out I guess. Academic at this point since I'm wiping and groovin now.

In that case yeah your right it was just worn out. Did you put a dab of grease in there so its not dry and cause the same problem in a year or so?
