Hello,

Just bought a 1968 Ford Bronco last week from the original 90 year old owner.  His wife, 88 years old, paid for a refresh about 4 years ago, so the paint and interior look good but I think the motor needs some tuning and a good once over.

I'm a novice at auto engines, so I'm really looking forward to learning a lot on the site.  Also owned a 1989 Bronco years ago, purchased new and drove for about 4 years.  Loved it and should have kept it, but live and learn as years pass.  Nonetheless, I'm back with an older classic and looking forward to enjoying it now.  Thanks in advance for all feedback and help.  I may ask some very basic questions over time but I'll learn...

Thanks.  I've got an appointment next Tuesday at a Classic Car Shop not too far away. Let's hope they share your comments and tell me only a little work is needed to really begin enjoying...

Thanks also for the tips.  By signature, does this mean anything I know about the bronco that I own?  For example, engine, transmission etc.?   Thanks again.

Yep...., the signature is fluid in that you can change/update it at any time.

(it appears on every post you enter)

Your rig look pretty stock however, if there are any mods, list them.

Post some more pics, inside, outside, & under hood.  We can help you find out what you have.

Your signature can contain almost anything you want it to but we prefer your truck's vitals.  That makes answering questions easier since people like me have a short memory, and the vitals help kick our brain into operation )

yo Maine,

WELCOME!

Great buy!

Grandfather/mom & dad had a farm in Union in early 1900's, then they moved & bought a farm in Fitchburg.

As Bob & Seabronc advised; in your profile, include your year, engine, trans, Xfer case & locking hub type (auto or manual) and any major mods such as body or suspension lift, etc.

Hello,

Thanks to all for the replies and feedback.  I've added a signature as you'll see and I've tried a number of times to add a few more pics of the inside, engine and underside but cannot figure out how to add pictures?  Can anyone help with this?  I'd like to get more feedback regarding what you see inside and under my Bronco since many on this site have been in and around early broncos for a long time.

Also, I'm thinking of getting the frame/axles sandblasted and painted.  Good idea?  If yes, what should this cost approximately?  Should I have any type of other rust protector applied to the underside?

Hoping to have a little work done each year and not sure how to prioritize.  Can't afford to have everything done at one time.  Goal is to keep as stock as possible and running really well.  Thanks.

Good job Maine..!

Now would be a good time to post your questions on the 66-77 tech support link on homepage.

Not everybody follows "introductions"

Start with;

"I'd like to get more feedback regarding what you see inside and under my Bronco since many on this site have been in and around early broncos for a long time.

Also, I'm thinking of getting the frame/axles sandblasted and painted.  Good idea?  If yes, what should this cost approximately?  Should I have any type of other rust protector applied to the underside?
