Just wanted to say hello to everyone, I jsut registered on here and just recently bought by Bronco, which I absolutely love... she is still untouched mod wise, chasing down a few problems that were there when I purchased, any warnings as to things i should maybe get to before they are a problem would be appreciated, figure I will get her stabel then start the fun mods. '88 XLT, 5.0L 302ci. V-8 auto, and here is a pic.

You can find many posts on common problems and potential mods by searching the forums. You may have some minor 'bugs' to work out, but the Bronco is a very reliable 4WD vehicle. Some common problems to look for are general things like fluid leaks, worn steering or frontend parts, suspension and body mount bushings (especially those for the radiator core support) and rust in the wheelwells or tailgate. Problems specific to your Bronco are mainlly with the drivetrain. Look for a leaking oil pan gasket or rear main seal, and thoroughly check out the 4WD system. IF you have automatic hubs and the push-button shift for the transfer case, that system can be expensive to repair. Be sure both 4HI and 4Lo work.
