how come when i pull my light switch out they start flickering and my batery charge goes form fourteen (running) to ten? what causes that and how can i fix it?

It sounds like you have corrosion in your plugs.
Have you been blowing fuses? If so you have a short.
If not then you need to pull all the plugs off the lights and start cleaning everything with a wire brush (make sure the lights are OFF).
After cleaning I use petroleum jelly in the plugs to help keep the corrosion out.

I agree with shadow d. There is some corrosion causing some resistance. I would check all connections even the connection on the alt. and the battery.
