Im new to the site and found it just browsing around. I've got a 85 Bronco II and have decided to go a different way than the norm, and try lowering it. Im not sure where to go with this since you cant go too far without the ride getting too rough. I've Lowered the front end on my othe 87 Bronco II by cutting some rings out of the lowering springs I purchased and its a pretty rough ride. Just wondering if anyone has ever found a way to lower it without losing the quality of the ride.

Man thats wierd never really thought or wanted to lower a bad a$$ off road machine , i mean thats what a bronco is an off road machine i know your not going for the norm but thats way off man i think yor on the wrong web site for that ..... that is such a waste of good ford steel to just lower it ... get a car , get a chevy, but dont lower the ford bronco ... lol whatever man its yours ... goodluck either way , but i am sure your gonna catch it on here for doing that :)>-

oh man! I thought about lowering my B2 for all of a day. Then realizzed I liked picking my own parking (over curbs etc) or climbing trails WAY too much for that <)


Either way, the biggest "trouble" you are going to encounter is that FORD built these things right, (until the mid 90's anyway) By that I mean that it has an I beam frame that is near impossible to mod, and when it does come down you will catch all kinds of **** from the front gear box.

Really, the most you are going to go easily will be about an inch - 4 inches, unless you want to fake it and just put on some really tiny wheels and thin tires. hahahha

OR

:)) get a car.

Yeah, you're not going to get much anywhere trying to lower a horse. You're not thinking right. You're thinking in the wrong direction, as a matter of fact. Instead of thinking down (negative), you should try a more positive thought process and go up. LOL. Trust me, you'll be happier in a tower of power instead of a moving speed bump.

is it 2wd or 4wd. A 2wd is lowered i-beams and flip the rear springs. 4wd all you can do is cut the front springs and add another set of front shocks

lol my trucks getting lowered but mines a 2wd f150

and im not dropping it im dropping the front and lowering the rear a little and putting some mickey tompson classic 2 rims on it

just got a solid back window for it too

have fun dude ive seen 2 lowered 2wds i think its a cool idea . . .. . . . get some pics i gotta get some for my ride too

4WD would be a PITA to lower. 2WD is much easier. You could comvert a 4WD to 2WD...BII's did come 2wd but aren't that common. I've only ever seen 2.

Your best bet would be to get parts from a 2wd ranger...then order a lowering kit from LMC or like parts out fit.

Now the best lowering I've seen was on a "ranger" an it was frame on the ground with 20" wheels. Requires you to mod the front frame of a Toyota truck and true IFS then lower it.

Lowered BII's look cool but not all that practical...lifting is easier/better and well more in line with what the truck was built for. That doesn't mean you shouldn't give it a shot.
