yah when i hit half a tank my gas gauge drops like ****, so after 2 weeks of driving back and forth 2 work and around town it says im on E, but i go and fill it up it only take 15-18 gallons, 50-60 bucks. so i know im using half a tank every 2 weeks. is that good or OK. do you think im getting good gas mileage guys. i drive about 15-20 miles a day, i think ill get a more accurate check tomorrow, and i work 5 or 6 days straight usually, so what do you guys think do i get good gas mileage or ******. this is really going to be fun making my trip to MT with a funky gas reading. thanks.

Hit your trip button next time you fill up and then when you fill up after that take the mileage on your trip and devide it by your gallons and give that number. That'll be what you're averaging per gallon and then we can see what you're getting.

I'm getting at most, 14 mpg in rural 40-55 mph driving. Qm reducing the Bronco cargo weight now

btw, I stopped using the cheap gas (WAWA in NJ/PA, etc.) due to pinging at var. speeds and loads.

Here is da scoop on why;

"..TOP TIER Detergent Gasoline is the premier standard for gasoline performance. Six of the world's top automakers, BMW, General Motors, Honda, Toyota, Volkswagen and Audi recognize that the current EPA minimum detergent requirements do not go far enough to ensure optimal engine performance.

Since the minimum additive performance standards were first established by EPA in 1995, most gasoline marketers have actually reduced the concentration level of detergent additive in their gasoline by up to 50%. As a result, the ability of a vehicle to maintain stringent Tier 2 emission standards have been hampered, leading to engine deposits which can have a big impact on in-use emissions and driver satisfaction.

These automakers have raised the bar. TOP TIER Detergent Gasoline help drivers avoid lower quality gasoline which can leave deposits on critical engine parts, which reduces engine performance. That

You could have a problem with either the sender unit or the ground to it. Mine acted similarly until I ran a new ground to the sender from my ground distribution bus. It is the easiest and cheapest stab in the dark. You canrun a new piece of black stranded wire from the battery (-) back and splice it into the black lead coming from the connector to the sender unit.

Good luck,

:)>-

Follow bidibrono's advice on how to calculate your mpg.

I have a '90 302 and around town where traffic lights are about one per mile, and being very gentle on the gas; I was getting 9.5 mpg, but after a desparately needed tuneup I am getting about 11.5 mpg.

So if you do not get your gas guage fixed, and if you get 10 mpg with a 33 gal tank you can go 300 miles in between fillups. You can do your own calculations based upon your actual milage.

Out in MT you can go 60-80 miles with out coming to an open gas station, so don't let yourself run too dry.
