I thought the switch on my dash controlled the flow of gas from the tanks and not just the readings for the aux. and main tank. I realized when I was on the side of the 10 fwy after finally taking the truck out for a nice long ride that my main tank showed 3/4 full (which it was since I just filled up) and my aux. about empty. It seems that I am only running gas from the aux tank to the mechanical fuel pump even though my switch under my seat is pointing towards drivers door. I played around with seat switch and still didn't seem to get the flow from my main tank. Once I filled up aux. tank the EB started and ran great.

Is there a way to service this switch, check it, and possibly just wire it so the guage on my dash controls the selector in addition to the readout levels. What else may I look for and how do I fix this so both tanks can be functional?

Todd my friend....,

From this statment., It's not clear if you have an aft. mkt. elect. tank switch-over valve, (under dr. seat)--or--the factory manual valve with a hand crank (under dr. seat).

If it's electric..., you should hear it "click" (inside the valve) slightly when activated back & forth.

Either/or..., simply remove the gas feed line fr. the rear tank where it hooks to the valve. If fuel comes out (of the hose)... good to go. (no obstruction)

With it back in place....remove the hose fr. the out-going hose-bib on the valve...if no fuel runs out(of the valve., not the hose) ...there's your prob.

Fuel should run out with valve in either position. (of course only 'til hoses are drained)

There's prob. half-a-dozen ways to test this......another is to remove valve & "bench-check" with air.....

AAAAAh....... please do not smoke while doing these tests..... :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> B) [-o<
