Yesterday after filling the tank with gas, I noticed an electrical whine coming from the truck. I thought it was just the blower motor still running, and as I was leaving anyway, I thought nothing of it. Last night after the fireworks, I walked out front and I heard the whine again, this time I located it, it's coming from the fuel tank. Even with the key off, it's still running.

My battery was almost dead as the pump has been running for about 6 hours at this point, so I pulled the NEG cable from the batter to shut it off.

Fuel relay? Or do I need to go further in depth?

The in-tank pump is less than two years old, purchased it new when I got the bronco.

Pop the hood and on the drivers side next to the underhood fuse box there will be 2 relays a green socketed one and a brown one . I think the green one was the fuel pump relay pull it out and it should stop if your careful you can pull the relay cover off and youll see where one of the relay legs has probably welded shut get a new one and youll be fine . If that dont work the EEC is what tells it to turn on so may hev to go much deeper into the problem but more than likely its that relay :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I saw that the relay had fallen down from the underhood cover, and with all the rain we've had recently got pretty damp. Poured a nice little trickle of water out of it. I'll swap that out as soon as I can get the dead battery jumped and can get to the parts store.
