fuel pump removal in 1994 bronco

Ok. anyone help me? I'm trying to peplace my fuel pump on my 1994 bronco. and my CHILTON repair manual only shows for a DIESLE pump. I DONT HAVE A DEISLE ENGINE :mad: . please help.

In addition, I recall that there was a discussion stating that one should use a brass punch, or hard plasatic or somthing non-ferrous (so as not to create any sparks) when driving the srew down locking mechanism out so the pump can be removed.

droping the gas tank is the best way to go not horrible if the truck isn't all rusted up. get as much fuel out of it as you can, don't forget to disconect the filler neck.

be very very careful when tightening the lock ring that holds the sending unit & pump in place keeping the rubber gasket centered, no fun getting it all back together only to have a fuel leak the 1st time you fill it back up.
