I got a 95 Bronco and I want to replace the fuel filter cause who knows how long its been on there. Im having a problem getting it off its not rusted or anything, I can even spin the filter around without the lines moving. Any suggestions on this will be appreciated, maybe a special tool or something. Thanks in advance

yo 95,

engine and exhaust must be cooled down

Installation in a 95; "...Insert the fuel line Scissors Type release tool into the fuel line. Insert the tool as far as possible. Push the line and the tool, in unicen, towards the filter. Then, in one motion, pull the line and tool off the filter. It may take a few tries to get it. On the tank side of the filter, a lot of fuel will come out. Be prepared. I got a ton of fuel all over me, including in my eyes..."

Others start engine and press button on the Inertia Fuel Cut-Off Switch; this will stop pump and thus relieve fuel press in line.

But engine and exhaust must be cooled down

Haven't had much time to change the filter out but I went and bought the tool and I still can't get it off. Something so simple isn't haha.

yo,

It happens to me too; I forgot how the license plate lamp housing is attached in 96; thought it was pry-off type as in my old 78; so I pried it off an bloke it in half; better-half decided to take the job over and super-glued it back together; of course she made sure I watched he clean the cestions w/alcohol, line it up, mark both sides w/felt pen, applies glue, let it rest for awhileaccording to instructions,,, then out it together acording to her prev. applied alignment marks and then clamped it... she later installed it... I watched

now for you;

Installation & Diagrams; Scissors Type; BEST PROCESS!;

"...Step 1: For the best chance of getting it apart on the first try, start by pushing the coupling together HARD so the fingers of the bail are NOT touching the catch ring on the filter. Step 2: While holding the coupling firmly together, insert the tool (I prefer the regular or low-profile scissor) fully. It may be necessary to rotate the tool so its gap does NOT align with any of the fingers, thus holding them all clear of the catch ring. Step 3: With the tool fully against the catch ring, pull the filter & tool out of the coupling..." Read More; Steve also shows Collar/clamshell tools
