92' eddie b acting like i got some bad gas the other day, asked the wife about her car, no problem w/ hers, i get the next morning find threads here about my symptoms and determine it was the distributor. i bought new cap. rotor, wires all plugs were fine, now....the first problem is i fallowed the HAYNES manual's firing order>>>>WRONG run like s&*t , got on line found the proper firing order and purrs like a kitten @ idle. spiting and sputtering is still getting worse though. spoke to a friend and he said its the filter or the rail pressure, and i do not a gauge to check the pressure. how can i check the filter?

NOW, i found a guy willing to give me 2" HD coil springs and a new tail gate for free but i have to meet him tomorrow to pick them up, W/ the bronc. no other way to get them PLEASE HELP! :((

No way to really "check" the filter that I'm aware of. Generally you just replace it if you have cause to think it may be the problem. How old is the one on there ?If you *can* get or borrow a gauge ck the rail pressure, it should be about 40lbs. AutoZone is usually pretty good about having & loaning tools like this, it's probably worth a call to them or another shop to ask about it. The filter is down on the frame, driver's side by the front of the door.

Ok i got the fuel filter off and i can blow through it, does that mean it's good? so i hooked it back on the tank side turned the key on and gas was running out fine, does THAT mean the filter fine? i can hear the fuel pump running fine, i checked the fuel reset on passenger side, but still she spits, sputters and cuts out. this stated the other night when i thought i got that bad gas. and has only gotten worse over the pass few days. i could get it down the road to town yesterday, now it can't get past my house or even keep it on a good idle. i do not have the money to get a fuel pressure gauge from the auto parts store even the loaner is 149**( he said it has the whole nine yards to test the fuel system) <_< i seem to be losing this fight and i'm running out of teeth to grit b-( any ideas?

BTW the gentleman I was getting the parts from came to my house from 1 hour out said he and his wife had business down the road (which he didn't) not only did he give me the springs, tailgate w/ glass and motor and all but also a brand new tailgate shell still in the box never even opened AND a full set of saw blade rims w/ center caps and said maybe i could sell them and make some money being i am laid off. i met this man on CL to buy the coil springs off of him. i tried to pay him at least "gas money, breakfast, coffee just something please let me do something" i said and his response was " i only ask you to do something kind for someone else when you can" I'm proud to say that I've gotten to meet someone like that in my life! All the problems that we hear on here and all of you that help each other i want to say thank you, everyone of you! GOD BLESS

OK i spoke with a mechanic friend of mine who finally got back in town and he said that under normal running conditions i should have about 40 --> 60 psi of pressure and on start up 90 psi so....... this means i have a fuel pump going bad OR [-o< there is a filter screen at the bottom of the pump inside the tank clogged up, i guess we know what I'm doing tomorrow being the weather dropped 15 degrees and rainy today, :( /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" /> . thought an update we be nice, I'll keep you posted

also so everyone knows removing the fuel filter with the proper tool is still a complete pain in the @$$ , and my wife got out there with me and i helped HER get it off  yeah i know at least it wasn't my kid
