I own a 69 bronco that has no fuel gauge. I just clock the miles. I ran out of gas when I first got the vehicle. Besides filling it up, I had to fill the hose between the pump and the carburettor with gas too to get it started. Anyway, yesterday I appeared to run out of gas (way before I should have) and had to do the same thing to start it. When I filled up, it only needed 9 gallons meaning it had 5 gallons in it when it stalled and would start by itself. It seems to be running fine once again. Any suggestions on what's up?

Did the bronco sit for some time? Maybe gas in the tank jellied a bit. Hows your fuel filter?

More than likely the fuel pump is bad. You can buy a cheep one at AZ and put it in the line near the carb. You should be getting between 7 and 9 pounds.

Good luck,

:)>-
