Changed my rear end to 5.13 gears in January. Since then, of course, when I lock up my front axles, my front tires skitch around all over the place. I don't think it's that big of a deal, but I'm a little worried about snapping an axle. How do I figure out what ratio should be in the front to help minimize this problem? Oh, and I realize now that 5.13 was a little excessive.

Front axle should be the same as the rear axle gear ratio and you have experienced the reason. The front wheels have to turn at the same rate as the rear so if you have 5.13 rear you need 5.13 front or as close as you can get. Good luck on the drive train, you might want to consider beefing it up also before you snap you axles or drive shafts.

Good luck,

:)>-
