I'm trying to pull the console out of the parts Bronco and it just does not want to come out. I've gotten the two back screws out but the front two just want to turn and turn...30 minutes later...and turn. Any ideas? I'm about ready to grind the screws off.

If all else fails, get a bigger hammer. But seriously if the vice grips don't work or you can't get them into position try one of those little shorty hacksaws or a cold chisel.

Thanks. We figure that we won't be able to see the underside until we pull the transmission. That console is coming out of there one way or another! Maybe I need to yell some of the "special" words at it like I did everything else that didn't want to come off! LOL

I started propping up the console in the back to see if it would help. So far it has not....going to try to get something under the front to see if that will help but so far not much clearance.

The screws hol.ding the console to the floor are just sheetmetal scr5ews, with no nut on the underside. If you cAn't removethem by pulling up while turning, just cut them off and leave the cut-off heads in the floor. Once you get the console out, you can then drill out the remains of the screws. I had similar fun to install my Tuffy console. Try not to damage the stock console, as it is valuable as a used part.

Thanks.

That's what I thought...since the back two screws didn't have a problem coming out...maybe they're just super long. I'm thinking that part of the screws may be just stripped out and that's why they're having a problem coming out. I'm going to see if I can get a pair of vice-grips on them and yank up (will probably scratch the heck out of my hands).... I don't want to cut them if I don't have to but I WANT the console.

I'm probably not going over there today to pull parts not unless I have two men with me that can help yank the engine and transmission while we're over there. The guy who is storing it for us has been really cool about the whole thing...so I want to get it out of there as soon as possible.
