I did have to swap the solenoid pack connector with a newer one, which I got from Ford for like $15 bucks. All the wires go in the same spot.
1994 E4OD Solenoid pack is different than the 95 solenoid pack in that the Diodes were relocated from the Solenoid Pack to the PCM in 95. So that is why the 95 Solenoid Body connector has only 9 Pins vs 12 pins for earlier years.
Going from memory, the early solenoid packs had a redish orange seal in the electrical connector on the transmission side, the later solenoid packs without diodes have a green seal which goes into the vehicle side harness.

Just got done changing the trans in my 95. Replaced it with a E4OD from the junk yard. Trans was pretty much the same had to change the shift lever(remove the rollpin) The connector was slightly different, had to remove the red plastic piece from my connecter to get it to even plug in. It looked like it had the same number of pins and in the same spot, but apparently not.

The pin-out changes of the solenoid pack for '95&up has been discussed here ( and other Ford forums) before. It is generally accepted the pin-outs are the same, only the connector style changed. I was part of another thread trying to find a definitive answer to this mystery a few weeks ago. Paul from Paul's Clutchboxes was also enlisted
Paul had the instructions that come with the connector kit from Ford. So in summary the pins/functions are the same from the older style to the new style.
It should be a simple pin-for-pin swap. by RLA
