on my buddies truck we ran 2.5 to the mufflers then 2 1/4 from the muffler to the end of the tailpipe. Sounded wicked. Are you running single or duals? If single I would go 3 inch in and out

It takes a skilled exhaust man but yes they can do it, if hes lazy he will con you into running the pipes down the passenger side. Shop around til you find a tech that can do it.

Might have to run 2 1/4 down the drivers side come to think of it, so that will still be okay. Ask about 2.5 but 2.25 is good too

fords are known to love back pressure esp 302 and 351 windsors! in my opinion 2 1/4 "2.25" will be fine for a slightly modded motor!

im running the flowmaster super 44's ... sound amazing! deep raspy sound!

Is it legal to go true duals on a 96? And in saying that are we talking two cats and mufflers?

It should be perfectly legal to run true duals... as long as you have the proper emissions control setup to pass inspection... so yeah that would be two cats.

I've got a 96 and I ran the Flowmaster 40 series true duals with a 2.5 inch pipe with no cats.

My guy did a great job with the bending of the driver side around the transfer case and transmission.

No tight curves or anything like that.

The only thing I don't like is the clearance... it doesn't hang, but it's even with the transmission skid plate.

Which basically means it gives me another reason for my fiance to let me get a lift :) /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I'll see if I can post a picture of my setup tomorrow.
