My seat stud on the driver's side has ripped through the floor pan and is causing my seating to become dangerous. I'm pretty sure the floor pan is rusted right there. Does someone sell floor pans or will I have to go cut some from a piece of sheet metal or even out of a similar Bronco?

Floor pans are available from any number of dealers. For example:

LMC Truck http://www.lmctruck.com/ford_truck_cat_page.htm

Jeffs Bronco Graveyard http://www.broncograveyard.com/index.php

Auto Krafters http://www.autokrafters.com

You could re-enforce by possibly welding a metal strap and redrilling and using hardened bolts in place of the original seat bolts. However, if the floor is in real bad shape, I would fix that first and then work on remounting the seat. If memory serves me right, the existing seats are only fastened to the floor by weld nuts on a re-enforced floor section.

You may want to consider having a body shop do the repair to make sure it is safe.

Good luck,

:)>-

If the floor pan is rusted thru or has cracks near the seat mount holes, a new piece is only about $30 per side. IF the only problem is a stripped hole/nut, you can add a few large flatwashers and a regular bolt. I had a 4-5" long crack on my driver's - side floor, and used a top & bottom pair of metal brackets to reinforce that area.

Another question about the floor. Would it be better to Line-X it or replace it w/ Diamond Plate or something similar? I think diamond plate would probably be cheaper but Line-X would be better in the long run.

I would replace any rusted metal, and then put Line_X or similar material on top of and below the new metal. I'm testing out some stuff called "Zero Rust" now, and may be using it on top of my floor and cargo area, along with the rollcage. I just started a few test pieces last weekend to see how they hold up, but a friend used 2 coats of the stuff in her 88 Bronco. It's similar to a diy Herculiner treatment.
