Hey all;

Another dumb question that I can't seem to find the answer to. I am rebuilding the motor and tranny on my 1986 Ford Bronco. It's a 302 tied to an AOD. I have it all put back together but was missing the inspection cover. After digging through my supply of parts I finally found it, and saw there were 3 openings in the cover. One is obviously for the starter which I expected, but there are two others that I didn't expect to be there. This is a part-time project that has been in the works for about 4 years so my memory of this part is almost non existent. My question is, are those other openings supposed to be covered with plates or are they just supposed to open to the elements. Common sense tells me they should be covered, but I have been proven wrong on the common sense thing throughout this project. Would someone please help be refresh this old brain of mine? Many thanks!

BELLHOUSING BOLT 260/289/302/351W/351C AOD

Bellhousing Bolt for Ford 260/289/302/351W/351C with AOD Automatic Transmission.

(1) zinc plated grade 5 bolt that secures the bellhousing to the engine. You need six total. We offer the set, but sell this in case you need just one. Also works for T5, it uses 4 of these as is, and 2 more if shortened to 1-7/8".

Look at a yard's trns rack and ask for the AOD; as Ken wrote; "...All AOD’s have the same small block bell housing bolt pattern as well as the 11-½” converter bolt circle..."

That's not it. This is a one-piece plate. I'll post a pic this evening.
