f250 axle shafts

can you run the 78-79 f250 d44 shafts in a 79 bronco housing? are they any stronger or bigger u-joint or anything?

Yes. I acutally collet D44 shafts from F150 and F250 all the time.

I have the passenger side cut down and resplined to fit my early broncoD44. Driverside is onlt 1/2" longer so I just grind off 1/2" on the splined side. They alll see to be the same strength. They all use the larger u-joint like the 760X.

the 44HD's still used the same dia. shafts, just stronger Ujoints like broncoholics said. and the long side shaft is just a hair longer than 1/2 ton 44

cool i thought i had found a 79f250 for $500 but it turned out to be an 81 when i went to look at it....that happens everytime thanks for the replys
