Run them both down the passengers side. Then bring your Passengers side pipe over to the drivers side exit. This will keep both pipes close to the same length, since your driver side pipe crosses over to the passengers side under the oil pan. You want to keep both pipes as close to the same length as possible, with as few bends as possible. Glass Paks will give you the "popping sound" that you said you don't want. Flow Masters will actually give you better sound and more power. Get the bumper clamps from the muffler shop, if you cut your bumper, the chrome will start flaking, then rust. If you can afford it keep the CATs. Remember the last time you were sitting at a red light breathing the guy in front of you exhaust fumes? :wacko: Besides, Emmission testing or not ...removing you CATs is illegal in every state.
The 3" body lift is the best route though, and can be hidden with 33" tires if you are still running the stock 31's.
Also, Flow Master makes a 3 chamber 3" in dual 2.5" outs, if you want to go that route.
