Emergency Brake

i Hav an 86 b2 i just repalced all brake lines,parts,and cables and when i push the emergency brake pedal it dosn't lock into place i can pull the pedal up with my hand. i also disconected the emergency brak cable to check if the pedal was going far enough to lock in and it went to the floor and i could pull it up with my hand.

try pushing in the brake release handle sounds like the spring isn't pulling it back in place try some wd 40 or other **** on it. if that don't work head for the junk yard to get another peddle
