i need some help on where to start looking for problem. my dash gauges work sometimes then quit. different gauges at different times. also i have had to replace the starter, alternater and battery all in the last year and having some other electrical issues. could there be one problem or short causing all of my electrical issues or am i looking for more than one problem?

Yes, check along where cables rub on surfaces, near the manifold, etc. I'd also suggest removing, cleaning and reinstalling all grounding locations, ie. Battery cable connections light grounds, etc. one of the main grounds is under the dash against the fire wall near the driver side.
