So recently I have been pulling wires through that area. I put a dual battery setup in and ran 4 awg cables through the firewall to a center console switch panel. It is very possible that I could have broken some wires while pulling those cables through. I just need to trace them I think. Although, I have given those wires a quick once-over and I didn’t see any trauma to them. I'll have to look closer.
I have multiple projects going on, including a rusted out chevy that fell in my lap. Gotta redo it and "give" it to a relative. Awesome.

You might also want to start a list of what you did and what you have to do. That way each time you check something--mark it off and you won,t forget.
Haha, funny you say that. I am the list king. I have more 4"x4" note cards on my desk, garage and barn work benches than you can shake a stick at. I also have a dry erase board in my barn with maintenance schedules and plans for all my trucks. I have 5 to keep track of and that's not including the business I run where we have 8 F350's.
I actually have a zip up binder just for this bronco. It has all receipts, wiring diagrams, detailed notes of everything I have done to it, or added and all maintenance records. If I die tomorrow, the new owner just has to grab that binder.

I know there is a connector under the hood just beyond the fire wall, but I don't know if that connector has both the reverse lights AND the washer pump in it. If it does, that has to be the issue.
But I read where that connector has 4 wires and the reverse light switch runs back and forth to it, so maybe the res pump doesn’t go through that connector.
Well take a tester (you have one.Don,t you? If so--Put the transmission in REVERSE---DON,T START THE MOTOR--- uNPLUG THE CONNECTOR GOING TO THE TRANSMISSION AND CHECK THE PLUG--TAKING POWER TO THE TRANSMISSION. oNE PLUG SHOULD LIGHT UP.tHE REVERSE LIGHT

Yeah, that's my next step, but what leads me to believe it's something under the hood, is the fact that the washer pump isn't working. Also, the reverse lights and washer were all working just prior to that dual battery install and the truck hasn't moved more than 50' in months.

I'll be glad when I'm done with this Chevy. Half of the truck was built with metric hardware. 1990/91 must be when they slowly made the transition over in bowtie land. I definitely get my steps in while going back and forth to the tool chests.
Thing had two broken leaf springs and the body mounts were rusted right through. Rust is really not good for your digestive system.

Well I,d check all the wires at the battery hook up. Un hook it and she what it does. Alot of parts now days are half made junk from China . The chain auto parts stores is bad about that.

Do you have a camera on your cell phone? If so. Take some pictures of the wires and post them. Maybe we can **** it up and see a break in the wire.

Yo Zeus,
Finally got my internet provider to increase download speed from recently reduced 196 speeds!
b
Here are the two wiring Diagrams
I checked, but no common Grounds.
I stopped looking for common connector due to vision issues, so try to find.

I think there is no common Splices

Reverse Lights Grounds are G1001 & G1002

Windshield Washer Pump ground is G701

Very nice, I'm going to print these out. These seem a lot easier to follow than the ones in my Haynes book.
It looks like I need to be looking for dry rotted and broken wires somewhere under the hood.

There is a lot going on right in that area, old wires and new wires. I'm going to have to set up camp in there and go through it.
The washer pump wiring should be really easy to trace, so I think that's where I'm going to start.

I just looked at my wires off of the transmission switch and they are RED AND BLACK----------BUT THE ENDOF THE WIRES--WAS BLACK. I guess the RED must have wore off. Also the way it is. I could be wire either way and it would work. My HOT wire off the switch is YELLOW.

iTS THE SAME COLOR--RED AND BLACK as on the transmission switch. The RED and Black goes all the way to the back up lights. My break was between the back up lights up to under the dash. I just replaced it. Instead of trying to fight that mess in a cramped corner. My wire got to the center of the firewall and connects to the transmission wire. Then I ran a HOT WIRE--(WHEN THE IGNITiON SWITCH is on.It send juice to the switch on the side of the transmission. I order my wire--about 8 spools off of Amazon and got the COPPER kind. I think it was around $14. I got tired and ran one wire from the back up lights to the battery--to check and see if they burned and the bulbs and sockets to see if they were good. They burned. Then I ran the wire to one side of the transmission switch and ran a hot wire to the other side of the switch--with transmission in REVERSE AND IT WORKS. That,s a fast way to check things.

The yellow wire comes off the ignition switch and green wire goes all the way to the back up lights.
