Ok, well to make this easy I have attached a photo of what they did. As you can see there are wires "jumped" from one side of the fuse block to the other. The tail lights are wired to the head lights and if i turn on my high beams my tail lights go out. I am sure that i am going to need a new fuse block as i think the fused links are shot. I live in northern WI and it has no heater or windsheild wipers... The truck is a mess and I dont have a ton of money to fix it up as I am on disability thru the military and unable to work. I bought the truck without knowing these issues. (he hid the "jumps" on the back side of the fuse block..)

If anyone has any Ideas as to an easy (inexpensive) fix to this please let me know. And this is not the only issues that the truck has. I was told it had a fresh engine rebuild but when i looked under the truck while changing the oil i noticed a magnet on the oil pan so there are shavings in the oil.. This is my 2nd bronco and my 1st vehicle was a 88 Bronco so I am a bit attached to it.

specs:

1990 Full Size Bronco

302 V8

Auto Trans

If you need anymore info just ask.

Thank you in advance.

Hey Beanie,

Welcome, and thanks for your service.

First get a wiring diagram for your year and model. Then take each circuit 1 at a time.

The fuse pannel is probably not the issue. It's probably the original wires and/or connectors that caused a problem and the previous owner tried to cobble a fix.

There is no easy simple fix, like "just put a new wire here." and not restoring each circuit to the original state could have serious results.

What do the white wires that the po plugged into the fuse pannel go to? Are they spliced into other wires? and if so what are those wires for? ( to answer that is why you will need a wiring diagram.)

Let's start there and I'm sure with your dillegence and some help from the good people here , we'll get you back on the right track.

Good Luck

One of the jumped wires control the fuel pump. it is connected to an acc fuse, so it seems to constantly be in priming stage. which i know will burn out the pump. the other i believe dash display and whatever goes with it.

I have the Haynes manual for the truck and a while ago checked all of the slots in the fuse box and i know that half of the block (left side) had no polarity. every slot was acting as a ground.

On an upside i found cheap tires (5 tires with rims) for $55 so that solves that problem. I will spend some time out with the truck tomorrow as it is supposed to be a nice 30 degrees out side. I will up date as i find more things out. Expect a lot of posts as i have the manual on my laptop and wifi in the garage so will be updating as much as i can.

(and just found out the rims have the wrong stud spacing... FML)
