EGR valve

I just bought new headers and was going to install them when i saw the EGR valve. Do i need the valve or can i remove it with out it messing with the computers? :unsure:

At least from what i know, I think thats what its called. It is mounted to the side of the Fuel injection intake, and it goes down and it bolts to the front of the passenger side exhaust manifold.
