egr plate

Hi all. My vehicle info is in my signature. I'm trying to restore my engine to original. On the egr plate that goes between the intake manifold and carb, the pipe is hooked up from this plate to the exhaust manifold and the egr valve is also attached to the plate. What are the 2 other ports on this egr plate? One of these ports has a large metal check valve(i think its a check valve) and the other port looks like a large vacuum port. Where do these ports get connected to?

Attached is a picture of what I am asking about. Red arrows point to the ports in question. Also, where would the egr position sensor be mounted?

The one on the left is a check valve. A hose from the Air Diverter Valve connects to it. The smaller of the two is where the purge tube from the Evaporitive Emissions system connects.
