just food for thought but, my bronco has 3.55 gears and going 75mph i'm turning 2500rpm  prob. because of the overdrive trans.  and i'm getting 11-12mpg.(i lost 2mpg by getting the 32" tires rather that the 31's i had before) :((   next time i need tires i will get the 31's againi just retested the rpm speed again my mistake i'm only at 2000 rpm at 75mph

whoops b-(

Did you recalibrate your speedometer after changing the size of your tires. An easy check is to drive 10 mile markers on a highway marking what your odometer says a t start and finish. Then you have an accurate readout in percent. Plus you don't have to maintain any particular speed while doing the check. ex. 10 mile markers and your odometer reads 9.5 mi you are reading 5% low.

wtfdissux mentioned checking brakes for drag. I'd like to know how to STOP the front brakes from dragging - my front wheels get very hot from just driving - my mechanic says ords are bad about the brakes dragging. I installed new calipers with metal pistons, but when installing, noticed how tight the retaining clip holds the caliper. In my mind, the caliper can't "float" cause its too tight!

I have heard a few ways to add performance and fuel economy to the Bronco. Performance exhaust systems, mufflers and headers can help. Everyone probably knows this, a dirty air filter can **** your gas mileage. A new air intake system increases performance and may increase fuel economy.
