I can hear the module/relay when I push key fob to lock/unlock doors but they dont respond. what is the operation sequence supposed to be? I know the locks are to not operate if the engine is running so I am wondering if a bad door "dome light" switch would stop the module from unlocking the doors?

Any advice? Joe

I should also mention that the unlock buttons on my door panels do not work either even though I can hear the relay under the dash operate

yo,

a bad door "dome light" switch (Ford describes it as a Door Jamb Switch in diagrams) is part of the RKE ckt, but Ford does not provide the circuit inside the RKE Module; but if one is Not completing ckt, the other jamb switch for driver or passenger door, if good, will compl ckt & unlock, doors

Here is the Electr Diagram w/RKE;

https://www.motorcraftservice.com/pubs/content/~WSTJ/~MUS~LEN/21/STJ1EB06.HTM

Pull door panels;

test for batty voltage @ PK/BK  (Pink/Black wire) while using remote or door lock switches

I have a little blurry vision so I'm off a bit again.  Will try later if you can pull the panels and test that wire

for future reference:
