I'M BACK!!!!! After replacing EVERYTHING under the hood. With help from BULLY BOB...... FUEL PUMP, COIL, PLUGS, WIRE, CAP, ROTOR, CONDENSER, POINTS, STARTER,"ONLY BECAUSE I BURNED IT UP" BATTERY, "KILLED IT TOO" NEW CARB, TIMMING,"JUMPED 2 TEETH"

I still could not get my EB to run right!!!! I set the timing @ 6degrees and worked off it but it still would not run right.

I gave up and took my bronco to a old time mechanic. he listen to it run, felt it, massaged it and found the problem in less than 5 minutes!!!!!!!

On the dizzy shaft were the rotor connects is a clip that holds the rotor "snug" to the shaft without this clip the rotor just bounces all over and you can NEVER get a true timing set. NO YOU CANNOT JUST BUY THE CLIP!!!! I had to buy a new dizzy it set me back 62$ but whatever i had been messing with this problem for months.

THANKS BULLYBOB FOR ALL YOUR HELP

It is good that you found your problem. To my knowledge Bullybob never physically saw your vehicle. This is not a factory representative site, it is a user forum and and as such the participants can only offer suggestions. There is no way Bullybob or anyone else could have realized you were missing a small part from your distributor. Had he been on site I'm confident that he may have seen the problem. Once you had changed a few parts with no success you should have stepped back and spent a little more time thinking about the symptoms, or taken it to a mechanic and rather than shotgunning the problem. PARTS REPLACEMENT IS NOT TROUBLE SHOOTING.

Thanks Bullybob for your effort to help!

WOW YOUR A Dbag! first off I'm NOT a mechanic. I had no clue what I was doing. I cannot tell you how many times bullybob called me back after he went and looked at his EB to compare parts to help me TROUBLE SHOOT! Or how he listened to my bronco run over the phone, or how he walked me through the trimming set up, or how he walked me through adjusting my carb. OH and the testing of the fuel pump, describing how my plugs should look. I can go on and on!!! NO he was not here at my house holding my hand, turning the wrench, walking me through the process of changing 44 year old parts!!!!

What are you the forum police? I looked at your profile and you don't even own a EB so shouldn't you be paroling the full size bronco section?

MY HAT OFF TO BULLYBOB. There is no way I could have tackled this project without his help.

a lot is to be said about a man who spends his time on this forum helping others than one of a man who spends his time here looking to criticize a simple thanks to a fellow EB owner.

AGAIN!! THANKS BULLYBOB FOR ALL YOUR HELP. I'M NOW ENJOYING MY EB AGAIN THANKS TO YOU.

Yes, I am the forum police! And as a moderator I can patrol anywhere I feel like. Your statement above is enough to get you banned from this forum.

Your original post reads more like you were complaining about BullyBob's advice. All caps is considered yelling and negative in forum circles. I'll consider that you didn't know that and from talking to BullyBob, he informs me that I was miss-taken about what you intended to convey in your post.

That considered I apologize for getting on your case. I'm glad to find out that you are in fact pleased with his efforts.

Good luck,

:)>-
