device on top rear of valve cover

Hi all. 2nd question. Vehicle info in my signature.

On the top rear of my valve cover is a device with what I think are vacuum ports. What is this device? One port is hooked up. Where does the other pluged port go?

That is a PCV ( positive crankcase ventilation ) Valve . The smaller upper port is not important and the bigger bottom one goes to the biggest fitting in the bas of your carborator sometimes theres an EGR adapter plate under the carb that it goes too . Not really an optional item as it can cause oil to blow by plces it normally wouldnt , Its like a powered vent for the engine . :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Yeah thats the PCV valve, if you don't know what it is, its time to replace it. Most of the time they are like $3.
