Can someone tell me what all these codes mean, and is there a place to bounce the vin to get a printout of all the goodies this thing was built with?

Thanks

The safety sticker has codes for axle size, GVWR, GVCR, trim and paint levels. The important ones are the AXLE and TRANS codes which tell you what rear axle and gear ratio came stock, and whether it has the limited slip option. The TRANS code will ID your transmission. It's ofgten easier to post the codes than to search for a "de-coder" on the wb, as some are innaccurate. The trans code for your 93 with E4OD should be "E", and the rear Ford 8.8" axle will most likely be "19" for open, 3.55:1 gears; or "H9" for 3.55 with the L/S. As far as the VIN, the only real vital character is the 8th one, which codes for the engine CID. IF you post the VIN #, make the last 5 digits "x's", as those are the build sequence numbers and unique to your truck. JSM84

If you contact your local Ford dealer, they can probably give you a web site for build sheet requests. Miesk5 has a site listed for 91 and older, he probably has one for 92 and up also but I couldn't find it. If you get a site, please post it.

Thanks... I reposted the label minus the last 5 numbers.

Is the "B4Z" code for type of springs refering to the quad front shocks or something else?

THere are two types of springs for the rear. One has 4 leafs, the other has 5 and is usually offered with the towing package. The quad front shocks was also an option that often came with the towing package. The axle code "H9" is the factory limited slip (track-Lok) rear 3.55:1 gears in the Ford 8.8" axle. The front Dana 44 TTB axle has 3.54:1 gears without L/S, or "open" gears. Engine code "H" for the 8th character in the VIN is the 5.8L V-8, or 351W. Only thing else you may need to know is the transfer case, which will be the Borg-Warner 13-56 in your Bronco. A manual- and electric-shift option were offered behind the E4OD auto.
