After my problems with no fire in May, I replaced the distributor, distributor cap, rotor, coil, spark plugs, plug wires, ignition control module, and both fuel and ECM relays. The Bronco ran fine until last week, when I was letting it idle while I loaded the trailer. It just quit, dead. I pulled it home and here's what I know. Both relays are operating, which means I have fuel pressure and power to the ECM. There's 12v at the coil. Thre's voltage to the ignition control module. But no fire at the spark plugs. Could the ECM have "died", or does that have anything with providing signals to allow spark? I'm at a loss, since I think I've replaced everything with new parts (except the ECM). If it is the ECM, any way to test it? If it is the ECM, any way to bypass it to see if that's the problem? I'd sure enjoy some insight. By the way, if it is the ECM, how exact does a replacement have to be? I see them on eBay and assume I have to have the proper year and engine size and transmission (manual or automatic), but does the replacement ECM have to match the part number exactly?
