Maybe someone already beat me to it.. but if you did, you got photos?? :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

Planning on building a new floor/cargo area for the Bronco.

The Plan:

Back seat removed already - Plan to build a frame the size of the cargo area, which work around the wheel wells.

Ontop of the frame, sits 1/4" plywood, which will sit about 1/8" above the inner wheel wells, to cover them, and also add additional space. With the tailgate down, you can slide out a drawer, or two drawers for extra storage.

The top of the cargo area would be hardwood flooring. Dimond plate would be too much bling for me..I want a rich luxury look to match the woodgrain dash..

Because my rear seat is removed, I have a little room behind the seats. May add on a sub box, and storage compartment between the seats/cargo area.

Anywho..hopefully you can picture it. I plan to start this project as soon as I get into a new home or apartment with space to work. Unless I can get a 6x8' enclosed utlity trailer then I can work on this project from my current location ^_^ /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />

I liked having the seat out of my bronco, but I needed the seat so my dog would lie down in the back without sliding around. that and having the extra seating was useful in college being as I had 5 other guys in my residence suite often with only one of them having a car.

but hey I would love to see your project!!. have you thought of using tongue and groove pine that is stained to match your trim instead of the plywood and hardwood? I think it would cut down on weight as well.

buts thats just my idea

Still working on the top part..because weight could be an issue. However I doubt much weight be added to effect much.

You guys with seats..you could actually do the same thing if you wanted. Just half the size. Or you could just replace your carpet with hardwood flooring for a durable/replaceable look.

I like having my seat out.. no kids yet plus with the QX56 or 09 Ram quad cab those would be the passanger vehicles if needed.
