Recall Problem; "...I have a 95 Bronco and back in feb.-11- 2010 my rig's master cylinder's Speed Control Deactivation Switch connection caught fire, this is what the recall "speed control system" is and the recall is still on going. Just go to www.fordowner.com to find out about recalls. After contacting Fordowner.com and filing a claim they passed it on to the claims group @ FORD to be reviewed. Once the group reviewed my claim then someone got in touch with me, I have to mail copys of my title, bill of sale, ect. and copy's of photos of the damage to her. She said that the dealer dose not have parts for vehicles 10 years and older so I have to get my local shop to replace the master cylinder and the wires that were effected by the break fluid and their labor cast, she will cut me/the shop a check and then after the work is done then the dealer will look it over to make sure the truck and the work is up-to-date. All this to fix something that at most costs $200. ***..."

More on CRUISE;

Visual inspection is an important part of diagnosis. When performing visual inspection, check all items for abnormal conditions. Look for such items as bare, broken or disconnected wires. For the speed control to function properly, the servo (throttle actuator) and throttle linkage should operate freely and smoothly. Any concerns found by the visual inspection should be corrected before further tests of the speed control system are made. The following items should be inspected.

- If the amber RABS indicator in the instrument cluster stays lit when the ignition switch is in the RUN position, then refer to servicing the rear anti-lock brake system before continuing with the speed control diagnostics.

- Does the horn work? If not, check the horn circuit fuse, horn relay and horn circuit wiring.

- Do the stoplamps light when the brake pedal is depressed? If not, check the stoplamp circuit fuse, stoplamps, wiring and stoplamp switch.

- Look for loose or unseated speed control servo connector pins.

- Check for broken wires at the connectors.

- Check for speed control servo cable adjustment.

- Check for broken or bound speed control servo cable

WELL GUYS ! I took the clock spring off my parts truck and the steering wheel removed wonderfully! But when i began to dismantle the other steering wheel there is no where for the bolts to thread in for the steering puller!!???lol so i just unplugged the old clockspring and connected the new one and the same problem is still happening the horn only works when the engine is off ! and it looks like they done a recall on the part that goes into the master cylinder there is a special harness new on the there, but it is disconnected so i pluged it back in and same problem still!! the seller i purchase the truck from is now in hiding i cannot get in touch with him ! surprize eh? I also check witht ther ford recall site and put in m y vin# and it says no recalls does that mean the recall have been already been done?NOW what?

yo R,

ok, let's work on the Cruise Recall mess for now

Recall; Fused Jumper Harness (14A411) pic; "List price on this is ~$11 (as of the date I posted the pic), but it will be installed at NO CHARGE (parts or labor) on vehicles covered by the recall. Even though the label is wrong about the fuse being internal, it should still NEVER be replaced. If it blows, it means the brake pressure switch is leaking, and (as the label states) should be replaced with the new switch & adapter harness kit, listing for ~$20 right now..."

Recall Update; Field Service Action 05S28 Speed Control System Modification Supplement #7 for 94-96 Bronco, 94-02 F-150/250 (Under 8500 GVW), 97- 02 Expedition, 98-02 Navigator, 02 Blackwood

this shows how the recall stuff is hooked up; have not found any more info on this on the www, so far

Horn;

Looks like the Horn's Ground path goes thru da Speed Control (On-Off Switch to Amplifier) and that is the issue

yo R,

According to non-Ford sources, such as owner, wolfrace 8W7T- 14A411- E5595 is the New harness w/ 2 Fuses

some pics showing this New harness va old harness

Cruise Contr Recall new harness 8W7T- 14A411- E5595.jpg

Cruise Contr Recall new harness pic two 8W7T- 14A411- E5595.jpg

ABS; your 4WABS is disbaled; should have amber ABS warning light On while driving; or prev owner or shop removed bulb or it burned out or wiring is...

; so revert back to old school braking

yo rockinron,

I over-wrote this when I was editing (or trying to edit) my last reply

Stop by local Ford dealer and have them confirm harness.
