88 bronco 2, 5 speed tranny, center force dual friction clutch, 2.9

I just replaced my dead clutch w/a centerforce dual friction clutch, new flywheel, throwout bearing and clutch ***** cylinder ect. But when I was coming to a stop my clutch pedal went to the floor, after a few minutes I found that the pedal had come off the push rod to the clutch master cylinder, (this was not removed during the clutch replacement). Thinking it to be a quick fix since I had a few spare cotter pins left from a fullsize I owned, I crawled up under the dash to find no hole to place one in. So is there a special clip that goes to it? What is it called if so?Is it a spring clamp? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If I am not mistaken it is a plastic insert that pratically wedges the master cylinder rod on the pedal. Should be able to get them at most any parts store
