My Dad has a 1971 Bronco with manual steering and is looking to find a power steering gear box from another Ford model that can be easily retrofitted without major fabrication. Both the Bronco's I've owned had power steering installed from the factory, so this is a subject I've never researched. I've heard 76 to around 78 ford F-100/150 2WD gear box's can easily be installed. Is there a majic part number out there to relieve the major modification burden?

The EB parts houses have both kits., stock EB & the Ford P/U unit that req. drilling the frame.

The Ford truck unit sits lower so it works better on a lifted EB.

The stock EB steering "shaft" can be used on the Ford truck unit but it is just "adequate"

Obviously., the stock unit is best..... along with the upper & lower shafts with "joints".

JBG..., Toms Br. Parts., Wild Horses 4x4 will have these kits.

-------or-----

Boneyard shopping may work.

Thanks for replying, this power steering conversion will be a boneyard crawling effort. Have you priced the kits in all the EB catalogs? Too rich for our blood. Plus piecing everything together from other donors is part of the fun instead of just bolting on some kit. He's looking to save a few bucks (will take more time of course) to piece together an efficient and safe power steering system to his EB.
