ok so its another fun adventure in the journey to build my truck. so despite the economy work has been good and i still have my one ton axles (dana 80 rear and 60 front) and now i have reached a cross roads. when i solid axle my truck i havent decided yet if i want to d a custom leafe spring set up with a fabbed up xmember with leaf springs or just get a kit from cage off road or the one from the bronco graveyard website. now if i opt to go with leaf springs i have the means and materials to do it so thats not an issue but what im thinking of is being functional. my truck is a daily driver and just a street truck, its seen dirt only a few times since i bought it so flex and all that is not important. i know its cheaper to do a xmember and leafs but im still tossing around ideas at the moment. im one of those people with the "lift everyting i own disease." what i want is my one tons under the truck and it lifted enough to run 39.5s and have it ride smooth and not beat me to death. so start tossing around ideas and help me out

BB, I opted to go with the leaf spring setup for the front Dana 60 in my 84 Bronco after riding in a couple of SAS'd Broncos. The coils vs leafs debate is alot of personal preference, IMO, and I like a firm ride that doesn't bounce around alot. The stock F-350 leaf pair up front is overly stiff, but a 4" lifted pack will cure most of that. And you should be able to run 40's with the proper crossmember build. I'm currentl running with 36" tires on re-centered H1 rims with the stock front leafs and a rear shackle flip. You can see a few pics in my "Featured Truck" thread, JSM84
