If I drive over 45 MPH for a few minutes the engine begins to click and becomes rough. I have put oil in, engine treatment and that seemed to help a little. When I idle at a light the idle is rough and the oil gauge needle begins to flicker. Whats up?

First you should give more info about your rig. What year, engine ect. so someone can relate to your experience and help you out. I have an 88 Bronco II, 2.9, 5 speed. Mine sounds like I have a lifter rattling off and on while wheeling but doesn't idle rough. Sounds like maybe lifters? Valves? Are you getting alot of smoke out the exhaust? I think your rough idle will cause your oil pressure to flicker, what does it do at speed? Does it make the same noise at idle too? Anyways I hope this gives you a starting point, a good repair manual could help too. :D /emoticons/[email protected] 2x" width="20" height="20" />
