I have a 1996 Bronco Eddie Bauer with a 5.0. Last week my "Check Engine" light came on, but it still ran great. I took it to the local auto parts stores to read the codes only to find out my Data Link Connector gives no response to 3 different code readers. I've been told that I must have a blown fuse and that I need to replace it. I have checked every fuse inside the cabin and engine compartment but all fuses are good.

Does anyone know where this mystery fuse is located?

I believe that it is on the same fuse as the cigar lighter fuse.

Also the connector is not on the driver's side, but rather on the passenger side.

I agreee w/our pal Joe; our 96's lighter + wire shorted out @ ashtray support; bad way for it to be run.
