yo b,
I see that the Carr site is hacked, so I can't go to see the instructions; if they are general install instructions that cover all vehicle makes, then some vehicles may need carpet runner removal to install.
After drilling clean remove burrs; I coat all holes w/primer using swabs or whatever, a coat of paint and then before inserting fasteners, a dab of silicone sealer.

I can't see if they are Super Hoop version.
Jeff wrote elsewhere, "BTW, does anyone know if they make hardened carriage bolts? I twisted off one of the new bolts by torquing too much, and had to replace it. I'm worried that 220+ pounds might be too much for the bolts to handle at some point, and would like some insurance. I mounted it right where I step on the sill to climb in; I just gotta remember that I'm starting 6 or 8 inches further out when I lift myself in. I've already nailed the top of the doorway once. Won't do that again!
I know what you mean about getting the ladies in; I have the same problem with my wife. Even the step isn't quite enough. I need to figure out a place to mount a panic handle on that side so that she has a place to grab hold of. The gutter is just barely at the tip of her fingers, and I don't want to mount one of those big fancy handles on the outside; that looks too much like an "old folks" accessory to me. Something mounted on the dash or the front pillar would be perfect. "

"Mine is nut and bolted through the pinch weld with 4 1/4 20 Grade eight bolts
Had to cut away a good section of the plastic A pillar molding but I Like it. Also can't use the vent window, but I don't sit over there anyhow"

Just in case, I got a set of Smittybilt Nerf Steps as a gift over 12 years ago; black powdercoating still look good wth no rust; attaches to body mount and leaf spring bracket

"Front mounting: Instead of replacing the body mount bolt, they supplied a 2 inch deep nut that simply threads on. It's hidden by that nice stainless steel tube.
Rear mounting: Another long nut connects the L bracket to the body while a clamp and plate connect to the frame. It may have been designed to sit back a little further but my 1994 had little posts sticking through the frame" pics are gone
