i have a 1989 f.s.b 4.9l fi i am going to replace the camshaft and noticed that the camshaft has alot of play i can move it in and out about 1/2 an inch maybe a little less than that i was just curiousif it is normal for there to be play or it is just that worn out or if ford did that the only problem i have with it is that it is rubbing against the timing cover. one last thing i was wondering if anyone knew of an easy way to get the camshaft timing gear off i used a puller and all it does is slip off the gear tried it over and over with the same result if i have to cut it off so be it thanks in advance for any help
