I need help. I looking at buying a new bronco. Here it is. a 1994 with a 351W auto trans, custom with only 36000 miles. The only problem is it is with no options and I was looking for an xlt, but I can't bet the price and the milage is great. Can I put air in this truck, and how about power windows and locks. Is all the wiring run on a custom and the factory just not put the equipment in or do I have to run all of the wiring. Thanks for you help. Also the price is 3500, is that good, I would need to replace the drivers door and rear bumper to make it perfect.

Welcome to Bronco Zone!!!

$3500 is a decent price for a 94 Bronco, but I would verify that really, really low mileage. It is not hard to add power door locks and glass, but the A/C will be alot of work. The Custom model stands for plain Jane or vanilla, and the wiring from the fuse block will be different than an XLT with all of the options.

Man thats awsome I would go for it. Only bummer is no AC, but you can probably get that done. Far as power window and door locks, well I guess thats up to the indivisual, I have an XLT, but wish I didnt have the power windows and doorlocks, because well its just more to go wrong. I do think thats a decent deal, The mileage seems pretty low, but I would verify it against the title to make sure that its really that low. I think the 5.8L is the way to go in the Bronco, either the 5.8 with an auto or a 4.9L with the manual. While the 5.0L is a great engine, I feel the Bronco is a little to heavy for a stock 5.0L. I think its a great find, especially if its in good condition.

You don't find too many 94's with only 36000mils on it. I wouldn't waste another minute thinking about buying that rig for that price. That's an awesome baseline rig to start off with. If you're thinking about adding ac later, just like all the other guys said it is a little pricy. But hey that's why the top comes off

A custom Bronco is nice. They're like JSM said, no frills trucks. A stereo sounds great inside that bare interior though, and once you get used to it, it's pretty nice having the open space.

AFAIK a lot of the wiring is in there already, just not hooked up. My '88 custom has all sorts of connectors without mates. IIRC I have the connections for power door locks/windoes, but don't quote me on that.

Is your A/C out, or just not there?

Sorry to change the subject but, I have an XL and I thought it was the bottom of the barrel when it comes to options. So where does the XL fall in relation to the Custom?

The Custom model is the basic one, no frills. An XL has a few options extra or middle ground, and the XLT is the top trim model. THe Eddie Bauer edition is a special package for the XLT-leather seats, badging, etc.

If you've got a headliner you're fancier than a custom. It's a matter of tastes though. I actually prefer the custom. Not just because I own one, but because i think a truck's a truck, and i treat it like one. All that fancy stuff is just more things to keep clean and more things that can go wrong.

If there was a smiley that would kick you in the nootz it would be right here for that superior remark. >:)

We alwys called the "2-55" ac thing a wd-40 (windows down 40mph)

I also prefer the Custom models, and I've stripped most of the trim junk from my XLT. Stuff like cruie control, carpet, headliner, etc. are nice but not always fitting for some uses. Extras like power locks&windows are just something else to go out and need repair!!! I still use the A/C with the top off, though.
