I was just recently told by a reputable mechanic that I should replace my stock radiator in my 86 Bronco II 2.9 4x4 because the factory radiators had a commonality to clog, therefore messing up the transmission and requiring replacement. Does anyone know if this is true. He kinda scared me! HEHE. Thanks again Guys TONY

If you're going to replace the Rad swap in a 4 core from a 4.0L auto Explorer. They're bigger and better built. Also swap in a big as tranny cooler assuming it's an auto BII of course.

Hope that helps.

have you drained it or anything lately? Is this just because of the mechanic saying it or are you having a problem with it. You might want to check the recalls but if this guy works on them alot than he probably know what he is talking about......then again he is a mechanic

Or you could install an aftermarket tranny cooler.
