it seems like something goes wrong with this truck way too often  i really love the damn thing so i will NEVER get rid if it. but today my axle busted as i was driving down the road at 50 mph... not good. out of nowhere the truck dropped in the right rear corner. lost my brakes too so i was in for the ride. as the truck stopped i saw my wheel with axle still attached passes by on thr drivers side heading directly into oncoming traffic... #@%* blasted off one cars door wich is demolished and bounced into the next car in line tearing through the door skin. fortunately the axle is still under warranty and nobody got hurt. but damn was that scarey

it seems the more money i put in the more stuff goes wrong :((

does anyone know how much it might cost to get it fixed? i installed the rear myself but i dont really want to mess with the gears or anything like that... what kind of internal damage might have been caused by this? AAHHHHHHHHH!!!!

Did the axle pop out off the bearing or did it break in half?

Either way a replacement axle in a junk yard is cheap.

You will want a new rear bearing to be pressed onto the axle and reinstall. The hardest part I think is the drum brakes (remembering where the damn springs go).

If the brake package stayed together you can rebolt it back on without messing with the brakes, but I bet you will need a new drum if all the parts were flying at 50mph. Your fix will be cheap but the other cars will be another story...
