Body swap

I am swapping bodies from 81 to a 93 and I am wondering if anyone has done one of these and has any pointers. I have the new body on the frame and I am starting on the wiring. I should mention that the motor is fuel injected 96 motor that had already been done for a few years. my uncertainty with this project include gages for example the speedo went from a cable to electronic. I bought the vss that looks like it will go right into the transfer case but I am not sure if i need to just wire it into the computer.

Not to keen on switching rear axles. i like my 9" with 4.56. Is there a way to use the vss from the transfer case.
